I should get that put on a totebag or something.
I know y'all won't believe me, but our Joan said that to me yesterday. Then I repeated it back to her about million times. If you know her well, you know it's a totally Joan sentence.
I did get a notepad out and took notes while we laid out our plan for next year. She was mean to me and I shot down a couple of her concerns because I hate people and don't care who knows it. There will be some kind of pool running, btw. I just need to find someone to run it before we talk about that in public. It was fun working out the details with her and it really shows how different we are. Joan wanted to add more and more to this challenge and I kept whinging about how knitting with ONLY handspun for a year was enough of a challenge. Yeah, I caved a bit in the end, but we all saw that coming.
In an effort to try to keep up with her, I've done some more spinning. This time it was batts that Joan made for me from fiber she got from Into The Whorled. The fiber is BFL (LOVE!) and the colorway is Blue Genie.
I love the batts that Joan made. She's such a natural, and I loved the spinning and how it went. I tried something new to me and love how it turned out. I finally got a thicker yarn and feel like I may finally be on my way to spinning something thicker than a semi-fingering weight.
I ended up with 390 yards of cabled BFL yarn weighing 4.4 oz. I couldn't be happier.
Well... unless I had more of it.
And yesterday's visitor from Cincinnati? After spending 5 hours and 45 minutes here (!!!) yesterday, they returned today, found yesterday's blog post and left. Somehow I don't think we'll be seeing them again anytime soon.
FIVE HOURS!
