Pattern: Hemlock Ring Doily
Yarn/Thread: Aunt Lydia's Bamboo Crochet Thread* size 10**
Needles: 2.75mm/US2 dpns and a 35 inch circular
Size: 24 inches across... give or take... more or less
Knit with: Nora!
I held the thread/yarn double for something close to a fingering weight that let me use dpns I already had. I bought the circular, but know I'll use it again because I'm using it for a sock right now. (I hate buying needles for a project when I know I'll never use them again.)
If you knit this pattern, google for the correct info on how to knit Row 35.
This was the first time I knit lace in the round (that wasn't a sock) and I love it. I am currently looking for my next project.
The yarn/thread? Is wonderful to work with. It is soft on the hands, has a wonderful sheen and blocks like a dream. Plus bamboo is easier on the planet than cotton last time I checked.
A fun knit that I'm glad I did. I feel like it's one step closer to one of those big fancy lace projects with the mysterious looking charts. Yes, I have one lined up. I'm just not ready for it yet. However, I am a step closer now.
And now?
I'm looking forward to seeing Nora's.
* I try to type "thread" and it comes out "threat". Every. Single. Time.
** I really want to do something with the green colorway next. (Love the name!) I'm a lucky girl in that my LYS carried this thread in colors.
