What the photo doesn't show is that the clouds were slightly pinkish.

Things have been progressing nicely here.  I have adjusted my cabled mitt plans, finished a cabled hat and have received a shocking amount of yarn and fiber in the last two days.  I'm still not sure if/how we're doing to talk about that last one.

The hat is drying, I'm working on my mindless knitting and trying to get caught up on email/blogs/slacking off online.  All the while pondering what comes next, what the fuck I should do and how I can make that thing that's happening next month a thing... for the first time.  Ever. 

Yeah, I don't know but I'll figure something out.  I usually do.

I have my doubts about how this hat will fit, but it's a wool hat.  How bad could it be.  Right?

Oh and I was told I had to show you this...

Yes, I have Santa's pants.

I suggest those of you taking part in the whole Santa thing ponder what this means... and why were his pants full of candy?  I think someone has a lot of explaining to do and I'm glad it's not me.

Quickly Changing View

It was better when I first saw it at the kitchen window.  Isn't that always the way?  I got this, a few more very out of focus and then watched the colors fade to nothing but a normal evening sky.

Been throwing off the horror of the summer as the days get shorter and I embrace the dark of the year.  Before I am ready, the days will begin  to grow longer and we will turn toward the sun once again.  My days are numbered and I'm working hard to make the most of them.  Enjoying the dark and the cold while I have it.

Getting back into the groove, I think.  Being more productive and feeling a bit more like myself again.  Thanks in part to a fabulous friend with amazing timing, and partly due to time healing as they say.

Currently waiting for handspun to dry, a hat to grow and, as ever, pondering what will be next. 

That really is the question, isn't it?

Don't look at me.  I don't do poetry, romance or any of that stuff.  Nor am I very good at nodding and smiling while someone else does that sort of thing near me.

However, I do love how that tree is turning colors. 

I'm pretty sure it happens every year but this is the first time I've really noticed it.  This is most likely due to the fact that I spend way too much time at the kitchen sink but there's not a lot I can do about that.

Earlier in the week, I was up and backing out of the driveway far too early in the morning.  Needing bananas can make a girl do strange things.  I looked east and was surprised and thrilled to see the sun coming up.  Well, sort of.  Most like the rising sun's reflection on the clouds, but whatever.  Close enough.  Made me with, for not the first time, that I had some kind of dash mounted camera.  That really would have been the only way I could have gotten a photo.  There's no slowing down once one is out of the driveway, after all.

Thinking about changing the blog header to a version of today's photo.  Must remind myself how to do that first.  Old dogs and tricks, people.  It doesn't always go well.

I'm just sayin'...

It only took all day

So not worth the wait. 

From the kitchen window, the outermost tips of the branches and their leaves looked golden as the sunlight pushed through them.  High-lighted and glistening from the rain.  Quite the sight while doing endless dishes.

Today has been all about a sleeve.

Tonight, too.

Sunday, will not be... with luck.

First frost warning of the season is happening as I type.  I guess I better hurry up with that last sleeve.

What a week!

Two days of the dead, Halloween, finished socks, starting a hat, a fucking hurricane, cabled cape talk and I don't know what all.  It's been a week... and that's not the half of it.

I still have election homework to do, a sweater to finish and a scarf to knit.  I'm sure there's more but I'm old, tired and done.

Did I mention it's going to be the in the 70's F for who knows how long? 

Yeah...

Still pondering mittens, world domination and why people are the way they are.  I'm content knowing my limits and who I can put my back against should the need arise. 

Keep the desires small and never be disappointed, right?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go complain about time changes, white men who want to tell me who to live and the cricket under the stove.
