It's all bright blue skies, turning leaves and promises of frost here. The frost can't get here too soon for me. I do love a good killing frost.
Somehow, I survived the end of October and the first Day of the Dead*. Day 2 isn't much of anything because I decided to stay home and not make the horrifying trip to The OC and the cemetery. It's going to be a long time before doing two days of duty to the dead down there seems like a good idea.
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate Orange County (California)? /icky shivers
I did turn on the heat. For a little while. Hard to rationalize running the heat for just me but I'll get there. Cold does that to a girl. Have a fabulous headache from the scented candles, which I am NEVER buying again. One would think that high quality candles would be less offensive, however, one would be wrong. Mom's little alter filled out nicely. Although, it's a bit of a blend of both of us, but I guess that's okay. It's been that way for a long time now. Well, it was...
Knitting cat toys, ignoring a Keep Joan Warm project because my hands hate the yarn, and waiting for new yarn to arrive. Still thinking our Helen's suggestion of making that last sweater as a cardi. I really do like that idea and it would be simple enough to do, I think. Plus I have handspun that could work for it.
Having the mixed feelings about the upcoming time change. I have enough sleep issues on my own, thanks. Just thankful that most of it will happen without me doing anything. The mircowave will need to be reset but I never changed the time on the stove, so I feel slightly ahead of schedule. Yes, I've been doing time zone maths in my own kitchen all summer. So? It's not like I cook in there or anything...
*Although, did make the mistake of walking into the grocery on the 1st. Very quickly realised WHY the grocery store was packed, got my cheesecloth and got the hell out. Btw, my little corner of the burbs may have cornered the market on old people. o.O
