Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a life mostly forgotten now, I did counted cross stitch on linen. Thirty-six threads to the inch, I believe.
This may explain why knitting charts aren't a big deal to me. It's not like you have to find the center, start there and work your way out, all the while using different colors and making shapes as you try to keep everything tidy on the wrong side.
Oh, and it has friends. A lot of friends...
So very pretty.

Yea, I see what you mean by charts not freaking you out. I did a little counted cross stitch too. But not anywhere near that many threads to the inch! Wow. I bow to your excellence!

to quote Monty Python quoting Chekov...
My brain hurts.

No! Knitting charts are easy for you cause you have the right kind of brain. It might be why the counted cross stitch worked for you as well. Isn't it nice to have the right kind of brain. After all it must really upset the snowflakes. (Woops should upset the poor little snowflakes.)

That is some lovely work. And, there seems to be a familiar color theme going on here! Huggs!!!!!!!

We have the same needlework pasts! I could show counted thread work every Thursday for about 2 years. Then I could go into my needlepoint and other embroideries. I don't remember a time I didn't do some sort of work with my hands. Your sampler is gorgeous!!

That is pretty spectacular! Never done a minute of it in my life. I'm going to learn to crochet though cuz there are some sweet pants I want. ;-) TGIF my friend!

Lovely! I don't have a lot of my counted cross stitch left, but I've kept a few pieces.

Beautiful! I used to do counted cross stitch and needlepoint, as well as crewel and embroidery. Charts? No biggie! I started all of those things, as well as knitting and crochet, as a kid. I guess that is why none of it seems very daunting at all.

That is a lovely sampler! I'll bet your other pieces from the past are beautiful too. I've been embroidering since I was five years old and knitting since I was seven. I have a tea towel that traces my tiny little hands in red back-stitch that I treasure. Please share more of your work in future TBTs.

Wow, there are a lot of us former cross-stitchers out here...
I'm with you - a knitting chart is nothing compared to a many-colored cross-stitch chart with partial stitches in different colors and back-stitch meandering through it. Makes double-knitting seem simple.

Very pretty. I did counted cross stitch, still have boxes of it. Need better glasses. I think the smallest count I did was 32.
