A recent sunrise. It's been a long time since I was a vampire child living my days in the dark of night and only seeing the sun rise on my way to bed. However, this recent morning did make me long for those days and parts of that long lost life.
I finished a sock. Yes, a single tall-ish sock that could have been taller. Working out how to make taller socks is going to take a few pair to figure out and I'm okay with that. Some things should not be perfect on the first go.
However, it is always very nice when they are...
Wool/flax from Spunky Eclectic. I started this last night and love it. I thought I had a plan for the finished yarn but, as I spun, I'm not so sure. The spinning will take time, and I am starting to think that I will need to see the finished yarn before really making a plan.
Slightly epic week has been slightly epic. Go figure.
Happy Weekend, everyone!
Hope there was rain in those clouds. And, I do love your new fiber. Huggles.

Happy weekend, indeed! How does the flax behave when you spin it? I truly can't imagine working with it, but I'm sure you're doing a fabulous job of it, as usual.

Yay for the tall sock!
Very nice fluff. I've never knit with flax/linen. Hope it is cooperative!
Happy Weekend to you too. :)
xoxo

Ah, long lost lives. I hope your sunrise memories were good ones.

Squishy roving, looks soft to touch. I always have height issues with socks (and not just because I'm 5 feet tall!). A short sock always ends up falling off the heel, even though it's above ankle, or a tall sock just isn't tall enough despite practically being at the knee. I guess that is why practice makes perfect, eh?

Ooooh cannot wait to see what you do with this. And I've finally settled on what to do with the pink yarn and it's not toe up socks! (Yet.) You'll have to wait and see!

Ah, changes in life. I hope you are finding what is best for you.
Hmmmm...tall sock can be challenging, and probably something each knitter has to figure out individually for the calves that will be wearing them. I like the idea of tall socks and then get ridiculously hung up on body image issues.
I'm interested to hear about your experiences with the wool/flax fiber, both the spinning and then the knitting.
Hope you are off to the start of a good week. xoxoxo
