After a long slightly unhappy night, I woke from a dream feeling better than I have in a long time. This is amazing because my sleep schedule it totally messed up, it's been years since I slept like a normal person and there have been long stretches of time when I just didn't dream. Yeah...
Then I found the above waiting for me at the post office. It's the main color for this sweater, which I'm knitting at some vague point in the future. A wonderful friend went to WEBS for me the day after Christmas. She'll be sending along the contrasting color when she doesn't have a house full of happy holiday people. The lovely people at WEBS did not have enough of the main color in the same dye lot on hand when she was there. So they sent it along to me at their expense. I couldn't be happier. I got more than I'll need in the main color because running short would make me cry.
The other day, my darling Trish friended a sock pattern and I feel in love with it. Naturally, I ran off to Amazon where I located the out of print booklet (see above) that contained said pattern. I totally blame Trish and she knows it. She even claimed to be okay with it because that's just how good she is.
Everyone orders out of print pattern booklets in the middle of the night, right?
Right?!
I found a cheaper chicken listing and ordered it because I do run that seasonal footware thing and shit...
/vague head bobbing
Ending a horrible year on an up-note is what I needed. Now to keep it going, yeah?
xo
Yeah!
Happy loud horns and clashing of pots and pans.

What a fun sock pattern! I thought that is what amazon was for, middle of the night ordering of random things you never knew you needed until 2am! What lovely WEBS people! Great customer service these days is like finding a million dollars in the street- just doesn't happen that often.

P.S. I love that Shetland fiber you spun into a beauty of a yarn. xoxo

Kelly is right. That's why we have Amazon. You are headed in the right direction. You'll veer off course from time to time, but you're doing it, grrl. Happy New Year, or whatever.

You got the real deal yarn (Lopi) for your sweater...I went with the Patons...for better or worse. Dark grey MC and CCs of off white and plum. What're your CCs?
On the sock pattern picture did you notice how the man's ankles are not straight but angled out? o.0
Yup. Gotta keep the up-mood happening.
xoxo

You'll have more ups than downs, fewer bumps in the road, and loads more joy in 2014! Happy New Year, dear one!

The cables in that pattern are almost exactly like the ones in the hat I just finished for Andrew's friend Ali. After a little figuring, I decided I could make those socks w/o benefit of an out-of-print booklet -- I assumed you got the last copy for sale on the planet.
Here's to a fabulous 2014 for you, lady -- you deserve it!

My favorite part of this post is that you bought that booklet like immediately! I haven't even done that part of it yet! But, of course, what's the point until my obsession with stranded sock knitting burns itself out with the heat of the sun.
Having a slightly obsessive personality sometimes messes with my queue.
And, glad I could be of service feeding YOUR obsession!
