Some of you may remember when I was knitting our Jessalu's veil. She has blocked it and blogged the photos.
Go see!I called her the day the yarn arrived and she mentioned that her veil was going to be an heirloom. She was going to wear it to marry her RR and one day her daughter would wear it. While I did not feel any pressure in the knitting*, I did feel that I was knitting an heirloom for a beloved friend and her family. Very interesting feeling. Much different from all those socks I've crankied out over the years.
Oh, and for the record, things are so crazy here, I don't really remember knitting it. So the fact that I had to knit it twice is not a big deal. *L*
* No pressure, but I was scared of her. Jessalu with a side of bride crazy is not something I want looking for me. o.O
Wow. Just wow.

The veil is absolutely gorgeous. I notice that someone asked if you were going to the wedding. Don't know how far it is for you but you damn well better get an invite and plane tickets if needed.

You already know how much I love it, and it was beautiful in person last night. I can also attest that you're right to be scared, JessaBride is a powerful and fearful force of nature. :P

It is quite exquisite, dearheart. And, a lovely heirloom, too.

Thank you thank you thank you a million times - definitely an heirloom that will live in my hope chest until my daughter wears it in her wedding. Then it will go back into my hope chest until the next generation and the next and the next. XOXO
As for the rest of you commenters, I can hear you, you know. *ahem*

It is beautiful and you're a good friend for doing it, but I still say you have minions helping :-P.
But wait, why did you knit it twice? I thought Jessalu meant you had to knit it twice as big as the original pattern, but that can't be. What did I miss?
Posted by: Diane | Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 12:50 PM
What a beautiful heirloom it is!

We are friends, right? Not to worry, I am not planning on getting married any time soon. Although it is tempting, Grant might have issues. Men.

Beautiful work, my dear. I know there is nothing lovelier and more eternal than a bride, and Jess's veil will be a physical, delicate momento of that.

The veil is amazing, just as I knew it would be. And I can't wait to see it in person when Jess and RR tie the knot. But which one of us is going to keep the bridezilla calm until then?!?
