Baby, it's cold out there!

Like record setting cold.

Like everything is white, sparkling and crispy in the morning cold.

Like I had to knit me mitts so my fingers would not fall off while I scrape ice off the car cold. 

No, not with a credit card.  I've moved on to a real ice scraper thingy.  Thank you very much.

I used less than a skein of Cherry Tree Hill SockItToMe in Earth held double to make this pair of short fingered gloves and US 3 / 3.25 mm needles.  I used magic loop for most of it, but did use a lot of dpns for the fingers and thumbs.  There was yarn leftover, too.  (Woo!)

I showed them off at my LYS this morning and the ladies loved them.  In fact, they were surprised to learn that I had used sock yarn because of how lovely the fabric is.  Maya was thinking silk blend.

While my nails are a mess, I am calling this one a win.

& I'm not just saying that because they are keeping my fingers from falling off.

Oh!  And the thing about TypePad?  Yeah, looks like it was just a fluke thing because it hasn't happened again and my girlie at TypePad said they weren't doing anything yesterday to mess with my world.  Trust me to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Speaking of timing, anyone else watch Alice on Syfy?  It was a two part four hours in total thingy and I thought it was lovely.  I may be saying that because I have a HUGE thing for Andrew Lee Potts, but whatever.

If you think it's cold in your world try mine. Right now it's 19 degrees and snowing. How thankful am I for leg warmers, gloves (no mitts today!) and a bigass scarf...not to mention warm socks. Oh, and let's not forget wool in general.

Diggin' the mitts, Cookie! As for Mr.Potts, cute, but too fragile for my likes. I'd be afraid that I might snap him in half. But, in my defense, I have a huge Napoleon's complex! On a completely unrelated note, I de-boned some hot wings, and added the meat and some salsa to a can of chili, it was hecka tasty. I highly recommend it. Warmed me up fast.

Nice mitts girlie! Your nails at least are manicured. I'd hate to show you mine this week. Broken and chewed- tis the season for dry, cracked hands I'm afraid. Nice glovelets! I'm impressed that you made fingers; my fingerless mitts are truly fingerless. I had to help sell Christmas trees today, so I wore a pair of those skinny $1.50 stretchy gloves under the fingerless mitts. It was kinda cute. But now the gloves aren't as cute, because they did tree duty...

How cold? Cuz it got down below zero here the past couple of nights. Was 54 in my bedroom last night (upstairs, somewhat far from the woodstove with no heat vents) and 61 in my kitchen when I got up (furthest from the stove and one degree from making the actual furnace turn on) Around here we call that 'fecking cold' ;o)
