Today, my Bev mentioned that Ali is hosting a Summer Knitting Goals Contest and I'm nothing if not in need of goals.
Shut up.
We have until June 20 at midnight (Ali's time) to join. All you whiners who missed Summer of Socks last year need to see this has your only warning/reminder about joining in on the fun at Ali's because you know you wanna join.
I need to finish (& yes, I know that I'll finish some of these before summer starts):
The Cookie man socks. I'm at the finishing the toe of sock #1, so it shouldn't be too long now.
My red lace. I need to figure out how to do the corner of the knit-on edging. Stupid pattern. I'm hoping that my Joan will be able to help me while we are working on...
The pink lace Joan Along project.
Oh, yeah, and Icarus.
I would like to knit:
Fiber Trends Field of Flowers out of that yummy Baby yarn that isn't made of babies. (False advertising!)
Birthday Man socks for the Summer of Socks and what's his name. (Hi, honey!)
Pink socks for me. Waving Lace from the IK sock book... I think.
And socks for friends because socks are about all I'm good for in the summer.
Plus I'd like to find my copy of Mr. Greenjeans because I'm knitting that thing at some point. No, not during the summer. Too hot!
What are your Summer Knitting Goals?
To actually knit something. I think it's been like a month. Last night I skeined a bobbin of handspun, which was the first time I've touched yarn (other than to move it out of my way) in that same time period.

Every time I make a set of goals there is a revolution and nothing gets done...at least nothing on the list of goals.

Goals? Knitting goals? Does that mean we're supposed to finish something? Oh, great. And, Bloglines still isn't your friend (or mine).

My first Summer Knitting Goal is to do a better job at pep talking our Carrie.
After that, it's lace, pink first then all bets are off.

Finish Icarus, finish the second Meilenweit sock (I cast on for it last night), and beyond that, I must ponder. Honeymoon Cami? More lace? More socks, for sure...
One thing's certain: Whatever I'm not knitting is exactly what I'll want to knit at that very moment. I'm bad that way.

I pretty much have knitting ADD right now. As I told Bev, I'd actually like to finish some of the projects I have started (swallowtail, a baby log cabin blanket, lucie sweater, and of course lots of socks). Of course this is all to be put on hold if I can ever manage to procure the yarn I covet for Shetland triangle. Hmm, for someone who swore they'd never knit shawls I seem to be doing a lot of that lately. I also said the same thing about socks, hee - now that's mostly what I seem to enjoy knitting and stashing! I don't mind admitting that I was wrong!

Maybe it will be the summer of red lace...xxxx

My goal is to knit at least one pair of Monkey socks.I would like to try to get some of my sock yarn stash whittled down. But since I just ordered 3 more skeins that goal is probably unlikely.
My biggest summer knitting goal-stay inside under the a/c so my knitting doesn't burst into flames.Oh yeah and learn to knit from a chart.

Oh gosh, goals. That's a four-legged word to me. Finish the fixation footies and Forest Canopy, knit Icarus, socks for SOS2008, finish Williamsro....and that's enough of that goal stuff for now and about as official as it is going to get.

Hmm I wish I were knitting what I want to knit, but I'm working on a deadline pair of socks. I'm in the SKP2008 and I want/need to finish the pair of socks by the end of the month! I'm not totally sure what I want to knit after that..a sweater I think..hmmm must think on that!

Oh dear... goals. First I must organize the mind... actually, I've been meaning to do that... write it down and soon.
Finish the Swallowtail (on peaked edge so soon), a Tomten possibly or some other really cool baby sweater/jacket thingie...socks.... I have lots of socks pining away for some mates. Another Swallowtail, original size.... ack, I think my brain just exploded.

At this point I'd just like to take things one at a time. I have way too many projects on the needles to even dream of finishing them ALL up during the summer. Maybe you can finish them for me? O:-)

I will definitely join. I have tons of socks I need to finish up and some gifts. I flaked on the summer sock KAL last year so I guess this will be a good way to make up for it.
Hugs!!!!

I must get in on this one. Time to begin looking at good summer knitting goals. I can think of at least five right now.

I have winter goals :)

I've been a total slug lately so I'd be happy if I just finished the pair of socks I'm working on. I had wanted to have a warm shawl done by the time I went to SOAR but it doesn't look like I'm going to get in so... Did I mention I'd been a slug lately?

To re-knit the Soleil tank I ripped out at the end of last summer after admitting through my denial that it was just.too.small and to knit the Forest Path Stole.
Small(ish) goals.
