I have no idea where the weekend went. I do know I did not make it outside like I had semi-planned because it was cooler than expected. Those weather channel people need to stop telling me what they think I want to hear.
I did, however, watch socks play baseball. Who knew?! While I am a product of the west, I had to cheer for those east coast socks. I mean... how couldn't I? They're socks! Plus a couple of those guys were really hot. Who knew?!
Speaking of socks...
I finished a pair of socks.
Shocking, isn't it? :p
The yarn was a gift from the KnittyOtter. It's Knitpicks' Felici sock yarn in Atmosphere, and, yes, they do make my calves look fat.
However!
They make my ankles look tiny.
They don't want to stay up and I don't mind. I feel how the these socks look... whatever that means.
The pattern is my usual toe-up short row toe and heel 2 x 2 rib sock with the loose cast off. As you can see from the toes, things were not prefect. I could have ripped back and made smaller toes, so they would be dark blue only. However, my usual toes fit me and that's what I really care about.
Plus, after this posting, it's not like people will ever see the toes again. Ya know?
I do like the yarn. Although, I was a little surprised to realize that it was not two shades of blue, but, actually, four shades of blue. Two dark and two light. I had to make sure that I cast on for sock #2 with a skein that was going to knit up the same way.
Plus the stripes are not all the same width. That was something else I had to factor in for that second sock. Not a lot of bother, just not the mindless socks I thought they were going to be. Not that I really minded all that much.
No love stuff this week. Just not feeling it and not alert enough to fake it.
Shut up!
Yay sox! The curse is officially dead and buried - and somewhere up in heaven my Grandfather has been dancing around like a happy idiot since last night. ;o)
Nice socks!

They do make your ankles look tiny! Although I never understood the fixation people have with ankles - personally I am obsessed with how big my calves are (I call them cows rather than calves - ha!).

Yes, a couple of those East Coast sox are hot, are they not?!
Never fake it. It's bad karma. Or something. Heh.

Nice friend-sourced yarn socks! I bet they'll always be comfy. Weren't dainty ankles a major turn-on in all the historical romances novels of my youth? Look out for all the rakish Dukes!

I'm always amazed at how fast the weekends fly by; as a matter of fact, I asked the same question on my blog today!
I love the socks; been wanting to try that yarn.

Maybe it's the stripes? If the stripes are narrower on the calves, wouldn't that make your ankles look uber-tiny?

Yeah, there didn't seem to be a weekend. I had Sunday off and that was it.
*grumbles*
Nice socks though.

Yah, we watched those Sox too and was it just me, or didn't you want to dress that Kevin Youklis up as some naughty Paul Bunyan? I don't watch much baseball you see, so I too look for the hotties...
Nice blue sox my dear. Very saucy those are.

Weekends are definitely way too short. Nice socks!

Knitting socks is like a legal recreational drug. For the most part it makes you feel all giddy but occasionally you can have a bad trip. Fortunately you can frog those.
But here's to happy tripping and trippy blue socks!

I cheered for the Red Sox this weekend too! And it was such a fun ride. :)
Love the blue stripey socks. I always got the love for blue.
