Pattern: Traveler Socks The link takes you to the PDF. This is a wonderful pattern if you want to learn toe-up with short rows and/or cabling.
Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers #9454. This is a wonderful no color color. It seems to have purples and reds in it in one light, but looks more grey and gold in another.
Needles: US 7 dpns
Mods: I added four stitches to the overall pattern. This pair fits better and has no pulling, unlike the first pair I knit. I added an extra purl on either end of the top of the foot. Not a huge change design-wise, but it makes a huge difference in the fit.
These may be for my mother... if she stops working my last nerve. If she doesn't, they may be gifted out next week. We'll have to see.
I am so glad that today is Friday. I can go into hiding for a few days without worrying about anything happening or anyone needing me. It's been an interesting week here and I need a break since I don't have time to just restart my life right now.
Oh, and who knew that there are people who read knitting blogs who do not mind a little a cheating? After mentioning my distaste for men/spouses who wander, I lost a few readers from bloglines. I find that very amusing for some reason. Yeah, it's been one of those weeks.
Happy Weekend, everyone!
wow, people's lack of ethics amazes me sometimes. that and their inability to face the truth, which is probably why they decided to leave in the first place. hope they didn't upset you too much.
another great pair of socks! how quickly you knit!
Hope you have a great weekend! Rest, relax and recharge! I find that watching P&P (the BBC version of course) always helps. well and chocolate ..

People have no morals these days. They start out with your husband and before you know it, they're eyeing your yarn. Heathens.

I lose readers whenever I start posting more frequently than once in a blue moon.
I have no clue why.

I should add that I don't believe it has to do with my personal hygiene, as I bathe regularly.
I do think it has to do with the fact that I may be as boring as sin. ;)

Um, aren't we SUPPOSED to have a distaste for men/spouses who wander? Now if you were PRO-wandering, I can see you losing a few readers...

I like those socks too - but, I like the ones from yesterday better!!!
Enjoy your week-end...and relax...that's what I am going to do...(grin)

Huh. Maybe they had no time to read blogs anymore since they were going to go spend all their time checking up on their husbands...

Beautiful socks! Too funny that you lost readers because of the cheating thing - unreal.

I'm one of those who isn't subscribed but I read your blog everyday. Nothing you said chased me off.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?!?!?!?!??!!? That you can go into hiding for a few days without anyone needing you? WHAT ABOUT ME!?!??! AND THE MALLARDS!?!??!! AND THE ARMADILDOES that Dave is leaving lying around? AND THE PINK THING that shall not be named?
I've resorted to ordering a large pizza and picking up a bag of 100K bars. It's been that kind of a couple of weeks. I MISS YOU!!!!

You inspire sock envy in me weekly, these are just one more for the case. Have a great weekend and who needs blogreaders that like wandering husbands anyway?

I was reading a blog (Woolflowers) who hasn't posted since February. FEBRUARY!! And she has like 1200 readers! So there is no accounting for who comes and goes, I don't think it has all that much to do with content. Also. I think as more and more people join Ravelry, less and less people will reading blogs, don't you think?
Personally I don't see Ravelry as anything even close to being the same as blogging but since Ravelry is the bright shiny new toy, I'm sure time is being spent there that used to be spent on blogging.

Thanks for sharing this pattern. I think I have some people who would enjoy these and they look like quick knits with the Cascade 220.

46! If your gallery is up to date, that's 46 pair for the year. I am in awe. And you said you couldn't do the KAL that was a pair a week for a year. PFFT! :) Your tootsies (and some of your LUCKY friend's) are going to be warm!
I really can't wait until it's cool enough to wear mine. I thought of wearing them since I'm inside most of the time at work, but the walk to my car might felt them. :0
