I know it's not Friday, but I am so over this week...
There may have been chocolate, too, but I'm not admitting to anything at this point.
Look what Gale sent me.
The yarn is local to her and I am so jealous over that. It's a skein/hank/thingy of Fannie's Fingering (Weight) Yarn in the Old Rose colorway. That Gale, she really does know me, doesn't she? :D
Isn't that little face gorgeous? I love that photograph and truly hope that's as close as I ever get to a live llama. (It is a llama, right? Or is it an alpaca? I'm a country girl. I only know old school livestock.) Whether she's a llama or a 'paca, she still spits and that's not something I need to see in person. Ya know?
Remember how I knit some lace for our Jessica a month or two ago? (I'm not totally sure what today is. There's no way I can remember when I knit for Jessica. Remember that I suck, people.) Well, today (last night, really, but hush) she posted in her blog about the shawl I knit for her.
She also makes me seem like a nice person. We all know how wrong she is, but it's not polite to point that out in her blog. I think she may be slightly biased, but we all have our faults, right?
Once I get her permission to use one of her photos, I'll be adding the Swallowtail to my gallery. She plans on dyeing the shawl and I cannot wait to see how it looks.
Yesterday, Jessalu talked about doing the personal sock club thingy in her blog. Like a lot of us, she had seen Jeanne's post about this club and liked the idea enough to do it herself. Jessalu replied to my comment and felt that I should join in on the fun. I hadn't been feeling well yesterday. I think I'm coming down with something. Or Mother Nature, the Acne Fairy and Aunt Flo are all working in kahoots against me.
So I gave in to Jessalu and, instead of dancing around in email afternoon, said I'd join in the fun. This is a sure sign I'm not feeling well, btw. I rarely just give in to anyone about anything, but give in, I did. I found some brown papers in the pantry that the Bag Fairy must have left me because I didn't know they were there. Paid a visit to the sock yarn tubbie and am now ready to join in on the fun with the cool kids.
Later today, I will pull out a bag and see what the yarn for this month will be. Thanks to my spotty (at best) memory, I doubt I'll remember which yarn is in what bag by the time I get back to the stash. I guess this is the upside to getting old. Right?
The Zero Waste Challenge is going well over here. I think my nemesis is going to be Q-Tips. They do break down in time, but they are not recyclable according to my county because they cannot be recycled like soda cans for example. I'm okay with that, but it does mean I will never get down to zero garbage. At least, it's not diapers or something, right?
The other thing I have trouble with the plastic bags that crackers and cereal come in. While I might be crazy enough to make my own crackers, there's no way I'm making my own cereal. Ya know?
Well... thoughts beyond how having a cat would let me rationalize the plastic bags? Who knew I would ever reach a point where I would sort of miss cat poop?
I never saw that coming.
And, now, I am officially out of news. Aren't you glad? I mean really.
Happy Thursday, everyone!
