That is the only fiber related thing I have going right now.
That's right. Nothing on my wheel. Nothing else on the needles. This is it.
Worse yet, it's not even the startings of a project. It's a test to see if my idea of a pattern tweak will work or not.
Yeah...

Very much looking forward to the end of all this political bullshit.
Last night, I realized that NCIS restarts next week. I thought I would watch the season ender to remind myself where things had been left off. I lasted about four minutes because of the local ads. Life is easier if I am not reminded about what morally corrupt assholes want to get elected in my corner of the world.
Life is better and I am calmer if I just ignore it all.
Otherwise, I will have to find a bell tower and I am afraid of heights. ;^)

I've been watching shows On Demand and the best, absolute best, part about that is there are NO political commercials. Hallelujah!

We DVR everything. I love fast forwarding through the commercials. I'm so tired of the politics too.

I have crawled into a cave. I have not turned on my tv in weeks. I have broken my NPR addiction and listen to my iPod in the car. I avoid listening to/watching/reading about the news at all costs. I don't answer my phone unless I know who is calling (and want to talk to them).
I'm much happier these days.
Life is too short - and too precious - for the bullshit and endless analysis.

Many of the TV channels in Canada originate from the US, so we use the DVR heavily as well. We are very thankful our political season lasts only a few short weeks when it rolls around.

Yup. Me and Kym have done the same thing. I check the NOAA weather site for my weather and read the print newspaper and that's it. Otherwise, I listen to music and knit, although last night I did watch The New Normal and found it quite enjoyable. It worries me. Oh, and the knitting? Keep going. It's cool.

*Thunk*
That's me, hitting the floor, NOTHING on your wheel?!?

I'm, I'm speechless. That's all you're working on??

It's funny, I get to see those ads all over the country and the tone is very different by region. Our CA ads are pretty nasty, but Utah has very polite negative ads. Florida, NC and NY have the nastiest I've seen.
I watch stuff online alot so that helps. And there's a whole world of podcasts out there.
Your knitting snippet looks interesting...will stay tuned for you!

We're avoiding the ads with the DVR and suffer through them for a few minutes in the a.m. It's exhausting. My knitting world looks similar...got the g-d sweater sleeves that make me want to jump and nothing definitive ahead. AND I've got a couple of 10 hour car rides ahead. Must find inspiration somewhere.

The knitting looks good even if it's just a tweak. If you keep on it could grow up to be a shawl?
With a little selective hearing I've been able to mostly ignore the political ads. Unfortunately it's gonna go on for another month+ and then the ugliness will be in full force...

We watched it, too -- I had not seen it before so I'm glad we did. I have to prompt Smokey to hit MUTE when the commercials come on. Without sound they are almost benign.

why not build your own sniper roost? Just sayin'

I'm with the other commenters who record everything. It saves time plus it's great for inevitable interruptions.
I'm sure the knitting/spinning mojo will return.

"11". Cracked me up. xxx

I watch NFL--just please don't ask me to identify anybody/anything. Even with the bad ref's, it's kinda fun to think the players are going after the "candidates" and their ads!

I'm generally happy I don't have TV. I'm especially happy during political season...
Are you knitting a Hitchhiker?
Posted by: gayle | Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 03:00 PM
Dvrs and TiVo are the best things to happen to tv since color! Live tv is so awful when you go back.
I have a ton of projects, want mine?
Posted by: Kelly | Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 10:11 PM
Would that be 11 on your amp?
On one hand, I can't wait until the election is over and all the political crap dies down. But on the other hand, I'm afraid.
You can be in the bell tower, I'll be hiding under the covers.

I can't tell you the last time I watched a commercial. Between netflix instant and tivo, I don't have to!
Posted by: elizabeth | Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 09:32 AM
Are you trying a tweak of Hitchhiker? Whatever it is, it looks interesting, and the colors are playing nicely.
Yep, I also have to ignore it if I want to keep any semblance of calm. Our local hateful cycle will be worse in two years, but they are already getting in on the act to remind us of how horrible they all are.
Hope you are finding something wonderful today, and I'm excited for you knowing that this is the end of the SeasonalFootwear. xoxo

Beyond behind on your blog but love to start to the tweak.
Hugs honey.
