It had been another one of those mornings and it was barely after ten. Still not feeling up to par, but not having a lot of options, I got back into the damn car. Turned the key and heard the intro music to this and was transported to another life, another time and a totally different version of me.
1984, people!
The day improved a bit and spent the rest of it wandering around whist singing the above. While we will not be discussing what a 14 year old version of me was like, I will say this...
I was seriously under supervised as a teenager.
Oh and I had planned on showing in-progress photos of my knitting, but I just ripped back the cardi. I didn't like how the increases were going. Back to the cast on/drawing board.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Oh that song! I was in college then and it played in all the discos when we went dancing. It makes me think of sloe gin fizzes and a certain boy from upstate New York. Good memories.

Isn't it amazing how a song can transform a day? Plus, this one is so easy to move to. Hugs, hunny. I so understand about the ripping thing.

It's great how the right tune will pick you right up.
Better luck with the next iteration of the cardi.
Yep, we made it to Wednesday. Tomorrow's my last day of work this week & this week is going so slowly it's crazy.

Now that is a blast from the past:)
Sorry about the ripping. I hope it goes better the second time. Lots of things do:)

Music can be such a mood enhancer...it helps me get through nasty jobs like house cleaning.
You might have been under supervised but you turned out great!
Happy (re)knitting! And hope you are completely healthy soon.
xoxo

Music brings such a visceral reaction in me. This song is one that transports. Ripping a sweater is the least of our problems, eh? We just get back on the horse and ride.

wow its amazing how a little snip of music just takes you somewhere else, isn't it?! Looking forward to cardi V2.

Well, that was a good way to get me moving in the morning. Good luck with the cardi - I'm sure the next try will be much better.

That song would be excellent knit-ripping music...

I love that song!! :) I suspect the 12ish yr old version of me would have been terrified of the 14 yr old version of you. I got your extra supervision, and was sheltered.

I was such a good kid that nobody ever questioned what I was doing. No curfews for me, my parents knew my overdeveloped sense of guilt wouldn't let me stay out late.

How fun! I myself had a Journey moment the other day. Don't Stop Believing played on a Pandora station and I was 14 again too.

Wow. I don't think I actually listened to the lyrics before. Ah, 1984. Why did you deceive me so?

Glad your day turned around. I'm thinking about finishing a shawl, but it's been so long I forgot 1) the name of the pattern (rav can fix that) and 2) where the hell the pattern went.

I hope you're feeling better and the knitting is behaving. That music took me back to the clubs of Houston. 'nuff said about that. o.O
