By the time you read this, the hat will be done or I will have died trying.
Or a little of both.
And the pretty umbrella?
It was a gift from our Joan. It arrived a couple of months ago and we have not had any rain since it arrived. No, I'm not kidding. I was starting to wonder/worry about the Power of The Joan when people started talking drought.
Then Saturday, my officially sanctioned birthday gift box arrived from Joan and in it were a few more fabulous poppy fabric/design items... including a 'tech case' that I think is for fancy schmacy phones, but I'm too old to know about that kind of thing.
Suddenly!
Magically!
The weather people are talking about rain for the rest of the week! And into next week! Perhaps our Joan has lifted the curse and I won't have to move to Buffalo to drive carpool in a blizzard.
Although, there are days when that really does seem like an idea. Griff does call me Aunt Cookie after all.

Your hat is lovely! Great color too.

That's not a whole lot of hat left to do, so my money is on finishing the hat. Good luck!

I love Joan! If she caused the snow we're getting (and going to keep getting) then I love her all the more. You can't (or maybe you can) believe how beautiful the fiber is that just arrived. Calming blue, if I've ever seen it. LOVE

Another hat done for sure! :)
Rain is a good thing much better than drought.
Have a lovely Wednesday.

Another pretty hat! And the umbrella is so happy...
So glad that Joan sent some snow our way too. It is scary dry this winter...

Wow - I can't believe it's been so long since you had rain. That Joan wields a pretty powerful umbrella.

I would drive carpool in a blizzard. I don't need an umbrella in any case, cuz when it rains here everyone is all excited to go play in it anyway.

What a great hat!
We do NOT carpool in blizzards. That is nonsense. We stay home and KNIT in blizzards. That is wisdom, Grasshopper.

I'm thinking that umbrella opened up brings all manner of Happy into a rainy day! AND that's a gorgeous hat!

You need rain, I want snow. There must be a weather system that can give us both what we want!!
And I love the hat!!

Ooh, I like that hat. Good thing I'm a state away, I would be tempted to spirit off with it if i ever came within distwnce of it. Lovely. You can have my rain! It has done nothing but sleet, snow and pour rain since last week. Rivers are flowing up to or over their banks and the mountains got a good ton of snow. I'm over it, and ready for a dry day!

Thank you for reminding me I need to make a hat for the boyfriend's daughter. Unfortunately she wants it in black. I hate knitting with black yarn. I am too old!
