Happy Birthday! I hope that you are having a wonderful birthday. Last week I hit 52 so 42 seems awfully good to me (especially because my oldest son got engaged on New Year's Eve and I am feeling particularly ancient...although a visit to the independent living facility for dinner with my parents the day after my birthday made me feel particularly young for a couple of hours). It's just a number, after all. I love all the hats. I am working on one for our Boy Scout Troop. Our troop has a tradition that when a boy makes Eagle he is presented with a wildly colored striped rib knit hat. The only saving grace in all that 2 X 2 rib is that the colors change every inch so there is THAT to look forward to as I go along. I have knit a lot of these, so I think solid colors would have driven me over the edge by now. It is all worth it though, when a kid who doesn't even know that you are knitting his hat says that the hat is the best part of the night and lists a few of his favorites...all knit by me.
I CAN NO BELIEVE I WAS TOO BUSY TO WISH YOU A TIMELY happy birthday!!! Being busy does not mean I don't love you. I do. No matter what, you'll always be younger than me!
See what happens when I take the day off - I miss your birthday! Happy belated birthday sweetie.
I knew your birthday was right before that of one of my parent's. My mother is the beginning of February and my Dad's is today. I just remembered wrong. Make sense? Anyway, I hope you celebrated in style or least had less of the crazy to deal with yesterday.
xo
Look what I miss when I stop stalking you for a week - random Niebling sightings, texts from boys & now your birthday. Hop eyou had a happy one & nobody brought the crazy (or at least that you avoided the post office).
oh just rats, rats, and drats. I am so sorry (!!!!) I'm late in wishing you a Most Happy Birthday and hey 42 is a fabulous year! You are still celebrating, right? You should be. Week long celebrations are good for the soul, even if in little personal ways.
love you. xoxoxox

Ready has nothing to do with it. It's just 42, and to hell with your non-readiness.

Plus, when Helen Mirren says it, you just back away slowly, genuflecting all the while.

Happy birthday, of course. You're only a touch older than me, but there's no way you're as clumsy as I am, so I think you'll do just fine.
