The yarn edition!
The fiber was a thank you gift from darling Rachel for some spinning I did for her. It was the first threeway Cupcake Fiber that arrived here, but not the first that I have spun. The yarn for our Ruth's Damask Panda was the first trio I spun. (That one is far more subtle than today's yarn.)
Here's a reminder of what the fiber looked like and the photo below is a reminder of what the singles looked like.
I did not spin even amounts of each color, but I never thought that would happen. Human error and all. For some reason, the greens were a tiny bit thicker than the other colors. No idea why. However, I am still THRILLED with the yardage and the finished yarn.
584 yards total of Merino/Nylon 3-ply sock yarn. Thrilled!
Joan told me to make sure that I used my plying template when it came time to turn the plied singles into 3-ply yarn. She mentioned that one single might want to wrap itself around the other two. I totally saw what she meant while I was spinning. Not while using my fabulous template, but when I had to stop spinning to move the yarn to a different hook and needed to restart the spinning.
Hopefully, you can see the three different colors are really there in the yarn. Pardon the photo. I'm having a day and in focus is just not something that's going to happen today.
Happy, our Rachel? ;^)

I love the three colors plied together like that. Fabulous!

I agree with Rachel, the trios are so enticing! I need to buy a template thingy.

Cameras often don't like to focus on yarn. I think it is the softness and fuzzyness that fools the autofocus. Nevertheless, your yarn is fabulous!

If Kitten thought that tea looked happy, we must have been looking at different tea faces.

All yarns posted last two days are awesome. So jealous. Must get some fiber. Who cares if it won't arrive in time to be payed with before I have to travel and come back broken (both families mine & his can do that especially at once) and crippled. Still love the fiber. Can't wait to see what you use for SOS.

Very nice and different from your usual spinning. I can't wait to see the socks that result.

Whoa. That yarn looks crazy pretty and impressive. Complicated, too. I've never even heard of a plying template! Every time I turn around it seems there's more that I didn't know I didn't know about spinning...which is why I'm quitting before I get started. I'll admire the view from here. :)

Your threesome is so pretty! All of the colors show up so nicely, and I keep admiring each one, and then admiring how nicely they all play together.

Gorgeous sock yarn, Cookie. I see blue as the dominate color in the finished yarn despite the three separate singles. Very cool. And excellent yardage, too!

Very cool! (I think I'm coming to the end of my comment-ability for the day... ;o) )
