My LYS was Yarn Bombed!
Yes, I know that all this happens five or six years after it was (kind of) trendy, but we're talking about Sacramento California where people take their time in picking trends and in noticing what the rest of the world is doing.
Welcome to life in Sacramento, people.
My darling Babetta was thrilled with the yarn bombing and felt a bit honored that someone was willing to stand out in below freezing weather to mattress stitch knitting to her little tree.
Being the snarky soul that I am, y'all can guess what my reaction was, but I was a good sport because I do love that Babetta and it wasn't my tree.
In other news...
I knit a hat yesterday. (Shut up.) Photos to follow if I can get it away from my mother long enough to take photos. I'm also working on another hat or two. Clearly, I should not be typing right now... I should be knitting. Although, the knitting qualifies as being exempt from the only handspun business of next year due to the fact that I am knitting for One of Those People. Plus I kind of think the new year will be starting sometime Sunday afternoon for me.
Don't judge me.
It's been a week and I'm still trying to catch up on laundry, email, phone calls, cleaning and figuring out where this year went. Tomorrow starts my Year of Handspun... or Sunday. Too early to tell. I'm looking forward to it in a way. Working with handspun will be lovely, but I'm still a bit stuck for patterns.
Maybe I should be working on how to spin thicker. Then I could cranky out hats from handspun. Two stones and such...
Thank you all so much for sticking through another year of weirdness, snarky crankiness and all those Nieblings. Hopefully, the coming year will be calm, healthy and joyous for all of us.
Happy New Year!
* This is the same paper that did not take kindly to me canceling my subscription a few years ago. To the point where it felt like I was trying to break up with the guy at the subscription desk because he kept calling and begging me to take them back. And, no, it wasn't a good kind of begging.
