In theory, my little break from blogs and blogging is over and I should be up and ready to get back into the swing of things tomorrow. However, I have marked everything as read because there's just no way I would ever be able to get caught up. I'm already resenting the computer and don't want to be sitting here. So having to go back over the last two weeks or so would just never happen on the best of days. Understand or hate me. You pick.
Anyway, I spun for two days and am now on my second day of rest. My hip was/is bothering me and I'm hoping resting it will keep it from falling off. I really don't have time for PT or anything. While spinning like fuck for two days, I managed to do this:
That is some of the Shetland fiber that my Jean gave me when I picked up my wheel. The ball of roving was 6.5 oz and I halved it. Then I halved a half. That's what is on the bobbin. I'm so glad I did that because, as you can see, there's no way I would have gotten 3.25 oz on a single bobbin.
I'm hoping to get myself sorted enough to spin outside one morning this week. Since I'm awake at five anyway (if not eariler), I might as well be up doing something and I'm not really into the groove of watching the Tour de France yet. That should take another week or so.
I'm still (somewhat) slaving over a Niebling pattern I sort of like. At least, it's not full of errors and shit. That's enough to make me happy these days. Well... as happy as I can be.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to figuring out what the fuck day it is because I have no clue.

I think it's Tuesday, but don't hold me to that...

Ah, Cookie - it's okay if you marked them as all read. I've done the same (but never had the balls to admit it!!) xxoo

I've spun 6 oz since Sunday but I'm spinning much thicker than you are.

Pretty yarn! But it isn't pink!
Hope your hip is better soon. I've got some good pills here that would do the trick if you need them! ;)
Unfortunately it is only Tuesday... o.0

SO understanding! I haven't posted since February, so yeah, you definitely get a big "understood." No hate here.

Isn't this blogging thing supposed to be fun? Or, at least, fun-ish? If marking as read and taking some days off is what you need, then who the *#$% should care? And *#$% 'em if they do.
Back to spinning. I'm a newbie with a Sonata and I notice you've turned your hooks a little. Do you move them back and forth to fill in the valleys? And they don't fall out or break? Am I lame for not having this particular light bulb go on?

It's Day Four of the Tour, that's what it is. And you have to clear your bloglines, you've got spinning to do, missy.
I live for the day when they outlaw fireworks. Noisy and late at night.

It's "the idiot weekenders have finally gotten the eff off my lake" day.
Or something.
Oh... and my anniversary. muwahahahahh

I was convinced it was Monday all day, so dont ever ask me! I love your spinning, mine is coming along nicely. But I now have singles and cant decide if I should ply them together or not.... decisions, decisions.

It's Scruitday iwhere you can just screw it. It don't matter.

If your PT was as hot as mine was, you'd be throwing yourself down the stairs. Just saying...
As far as what day it is, who cares! They're just labels.

If it's just soreness from spinning, are you stretching those hip muscles? I started stretching every morning to keep from seizing up when I discovered I couldn't walk up the stairs. But then, our Annie knows more about it than I do.
Pffft on reading blogs. Just go with the flow.
And I meant to ask: are we happy about the remaining teams in the World Cup?

Marking them all read is the way to go when you are OTP from more than 2 days or this is my rule anyway! :)
I hope your hip will get better soon.
Lovely looking yarn

I kinda like Sil's point...
Take care of yourself, The Cookie. Screw the computer.

It's all good, Cookie. It really is. :-)

Smart girl. It's hard enough to keep even, much less trying to catch up. Love your spinning. It's so pretty!!!

Did you hurt your hip when you wiped out on the cobblestones? o.O I hope your hip feels better!

Well, welcome back. You missed a lot of good stuff on my blog....lol. Happy spinning! It looks great.

Lovely spinning and the tour is more important than getting caught up :)

Any post I would write this week would sound similar to yours. My day started with a bicyclist, one I was trying to be nice to, flipping me off. Good morning to you, too, sh*thead. Anywho...blogging, what's that?
Posted by: margene | Wednesday, July 07, 2010 at 06:53 AM
lmao @ throwing yourself down the stairs...
yeah, every day I try to read them, and every day I get further behind. I'm at least skimming for major plot points since I don't get news of most people any other way.
Posted by: Kitten | Wednesday, July 07, 2010 at 07:07 AM
So my Cookie Lady, you sure spin a lovely yarn.
imao I love blackboards where I can use an eraser...put my to-do list on that baby and what I don't get done..erase it. Concentrate on a new day! Blogs are like soap operas! If you skip a few days/week and then go back and read you haven't missed much!
Not yours though! :)

giggling at the throwing yourself down the stairs.
I want that PT!
That's some fabulous spinning there... does she sell her shetland fibre? just curious. and how are you liking it? the qualities?
I think it might be Wednesday now.. there are no kids here today. xox

Beautiful yarn. Holiday weekends always throw me off. I have said to several people that today is Tuesday (it is Wednesday I am told back) and it will be this way until the weekend. I thought Friday was Saturday, so I am really screwed up! But I have been spinning, which is a good thing.
Posted by: Doris | Wednesday, July 07, 2010 at 11:22 AM
When the count climbs over 350, I do the same thing. Today might be Wednesday but I was sure it was Friday.
Happy spinning.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well - and hope you get better soon!

Marking things as read is a time honored tradition. Life's too short to make yourself miserable through an imaginary obligation.
Posted by: Seanna Lea | Thursday, July 08, 2010 at 01:14 PM
I probably should do that 'mark as read' thing, since I'm currently over 1200 posts behind in my reading... We had computer problems for a couple of the days and the internet was shunning us. And I'd already fallen behind, so that was catastrophic.
Posted by: gayle | Friday, July 09, 2010 at 04:05 AM
Much understanding for marking all as read.
I hope your hip is better by now. The spinning is quite lovely. I'm not sure I have read about that spinning method. Is it like long draw, or more like inchworm?
