Fabulous Silvia told me to go looking for trees in bloom. As you can see, I didn't have to go far. Just to the bank. Spring is here and I am less than thrilled.
However, I am thrilled with my new baby...
And his cup holder. (A gift from our Manise, who still needs a blog.)
Not that I use it as a cup holder. (I don't understand having a cup holder on a wheel when one would have to stop spinning in order to drink and I always have a table or desk or something next to me when I spin. However, it works a treat as a place to keep those little things that I always seem to need while spinning.)
The little pink bag was a gift from Carrie (a couple of years ago), and I use it to hold my orifice hook, wraps per inch thingy, the oil thingy that came with my wheel* and whatever else I can think to add. (She also made a larger bag that I used for my make-up, but a normal person might use as a project bag. Trust me. Doing my make-up is a project. o.O)
And the stuff on the bobbin is what I'm spinning right now. Hoping to be done with it soon because I'm ready to move on. No idea what I'll spin next. Just know that it's time for something new.
Yes, spring makes me restless.
No, I don't want to talk about it.
(& Yes, I am using cotton in place of the drive band. Don't ask. I'm a boatload of issues and the cotton works better for me than the drive band. Shut up!)
& In an attempt to have a little something for everyone, (Ha!)...
Lookies what my Opal made for me! :D
Did y'all know she does amazing custom work? Because she does. I sent her the beads and she sent me earrings.
How cool is that!?
* Yes, he arrived with his own lube How perfect is he?!

Spring? Envious!

Wow. Spring. Already. So sad. :(
But the new baby? How wonderful with it's nifty gadget!
As for the cotton? It really is whatever works for you. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
I love a man that comes with his own lube. That had to be said. ;-)
So glad you like the earrings and what a lovely photo. :)

Tree in bloom? Wow.

LOL! I want a cup holder for my wheel, but I'll actually use it for drinks! ;^)

I have one of those cup holders, too. They really come in handy when you spin in with a group of friends. Everyone is in a circle so you don't have a little table next to you - hence the cupholder.

Sweetie, you don't have issues, you have subscriptions ;-)
Now only if he also washed the dishes...

I think I'd trade you your spring for our no-way-not-spring-for-a-long-time winter. ;)
Everything needs a cup holder! Even the lawn mower has a cup holder. Which, of course, I can't use anyway because I've got to use both hands to operate the darn thing.
Beautiful earrings!

Great that your new guy arrived with all of the proper equipment.
As for spring, we're seeing the first signs of winter here. Might even stick for a few days.

I snicker every time I hear "orifice hook."
The wheel, the tree, the earrings - all just lovely!!

I want to be Data Goddess when I grow up.
I still hate that drawstring. Wanna send it back so I can replace it with something better?

If you are not thrilled at the impending arrival of spring, how about I send you the couple months of winter that we have left? We'd never miss 'em.

Looks like you're breaking him in right. But I knew you would. :-P

Well if that drawstring is driving your wheel, what's holding up your sweatpants?
Love the bloomin' tree girl! Thanks for the tree drive by. I'll have to find another one to keep up with you.

I don't understand your reacting to Spring... you... you don't want winter to be over? (???)
Posted by: Yarndude | Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 11:31 PM
I'd gladly send you a box of winter. I've got lots.

Are you trying to spread the cranky to those of us still entombed in the depths of winter? If so, try harder: I was already cranky.
Nice wheel, though. Congrats!

I love spring. Because it takes so dang long to arrive, I just get excited when it does. Trees in blooom? Gosh, maybe. . .maybe in early May.
Those earrings are GREAT.

Opal is a genius.

I'm curious about the fiber on the wheel. It looks nice.
Knowing that the cotton is what works best for you is fabulous. How often do people stay stuck trying to make what "they" say we should do/use/have/be work instead of accepting what is right for them?
Opal is magic!

I cannot wait for spring - tho it's snowing now which also makes me happy. (I never said I make sense ;op )
I use my cup holder for the same thing - to hold my lube. ;o)
Lovely earrings!
