Paton's Classic Merino Worsted Weight in Olive.
(Btw, if you buy this yarn, make sure it is MERINO and not just wool. Patons doesn't seem to make the merino version anymore and we don't pay merino prices for not merino. Ya know?)
I used US 5/3.75mm circular needles and knit the socks magic looped toe up using CCSR toes and heels, a 2x2 rib and sewn bind off. They took three or four days. I don't even know at this point.
I am currently knitting another pair and have officially lost the will to live.
Or maybe that's due to the continuing humidity.
Currently, 70F and 70% humidity.
We are not pleased.
We may be sprouting moss. /sigh

i'm so sorry the weather is giving you such issues. even the humidity over here is better then that, which is just plain ol' Not Right.
i do like the socks though. they look so army chic. ;-)

Ick. The weather sounds awful. Texas hasn't complained yet, but I'm sure it's killing his allergies. He's in Napa today. Being a designated driver. Poor boy. Too nice for his own good.
You're knitting for the army? Seriously? At least it gives you something to do? I can find something to do with the pink yarn if you want. :D

The moss will grow on your north side,Sweetie. I know from experience. And, I happen to love those socks. Those are what my Mom used to call, wardrobe builders. A good basic color. See, you're a fashionista and didn't even know it!!

Did you know you can dye with moss? Or so I'm told. Just trying to show you a silver lining. OK, I'll shut up now.

I like that Diane...

Moss?! Gah-ross. :P I like the socks.

While the socks are good, I don't like that you are gathering moss. However, you may consider moving in with Peter Pan and me. It's suitably fall like outside and has been a good weekend for drying clothes on the line. Send arrival info...

Good looking practical socks.
Sorry about the weather. We got lucky here today. It's gorgeous. Snow has even melted again!

Hope that weather will improve soon!
I like those socks and I don't usually like army style clothing.

Yikes, that's humid. But the socks are lovely. And I really like those blockers too.

I really like the way the short row heels show up - great stitch definition.

Sweetie, you are supposed to be knitting for the Navy since our boy is a sailor now.
Sorry about the weather, but I'd rather be covered in moss than all dry and crackily.

Socks are lovely. It's cold here...I wore my mitts yesterday. The mountains are snow-capped! Feel chilly now?

If it is the wip socks, throw them away. You cannot lose the will to live. Spinning could help.

At least it's better than 90/90. Talk about unbearable. This is why I like Utah. Nice and dry.

Like the socks. Sounds like its time for you to take a little vacay til the humidity goes away.

I hope the mold season ends soon. I like the socks--nice and simple.

Yer mom wears army socks, nyah.
(and they look pretty nice, too.)

Cool sox - I need to knit up some more worsted-weight socks one of these days. The first ones I knit are still among my favorites.

The socks look great, but ewwwwwww that weather! It sounds just awful.

Why are you knitting army socks?
Posted by: Tiny Tyrant | Monday, October 19, 2009 at 08:22 AM
Very nice socks - are you joining the army?

I love olive drab. :D Great socks! While I love moss, I would hate to have a personal patch of it. Turn on the A/C, it will help with the humidity in the house.

Now *that* is what I call a pair of socks.
