These are outside of the post office in a grassy area (think raised berm) that protects the building from a very busy/high traffic/crazy street. (There's a walm*rt across the street on the right. It's a freakin' hillbilly hoedown over there and not in a good way. There was a guy in a wife beater and huge Uncle Sam type hat with stars and stripes on the corner with a bull horn, yelling into traffic yesterday morning. No, I am not kidding.)
Sadly, I was not driving while taking this one. I know that disappoints some of you.
Now I'm on the look out for more driveway flowers to show y'all. Maybe I can turn this into a thing. Although, I doubt it. I stick pretty close to my little corner of the world and don't get beyond it often.
This is for the best.
Trust me.
It's weird out there.
And in knitting news...
That sock that I had to rip back? Remember?
I was finally working on the heel and while working my way across to pick up a stitch and the two wraps around it, a stitch got away from me. Stitches and loose wraps everywhere.
Yes, I had to rip back again. Just the heel, but still.
The sock of doom!
And on that cheerful note...
Happy Friday, everyone!

Damn sock. Sorry to hear that, Cookie. Pretty flowers, though! xo

Your Wally World crowd makes me wonder, because some of the things I've seen at mine are fit for Jerry Springer.
Wigs were flying one day. Oh yes they were. In the candy isle.
Feel free to send the sock to me - I'll put it in time out, like all of my other socks. o.O

Sounds like that sock is trying to kill you!

Pretty flowers!
I hope that you've beat the sock into submission by now...have a great weekend!

The sock is just doing its best to keep you in CrankyPants mode for tomorrow.

Oh no! That sock is really trying to give you hell, what an annoying little bugger.

I agree with Sarah. The sock was just trying to help. Though you should still smack it around a little.

Yeah, that's one of the problems with keeping your shit tight (tm). If one of the little shits gets away from you, they run for the hills (from the heels? ahahaha) and then you can't get the little jerk back on the needles.
The other day on the way to the hospital there was a dancing slice of pizza.

My whole yard has gone postal, and not in a good way. I just can't keep up with the weeds and the perennials. I no longer have any interest in them, and they are sadly on the street side -- not so good for that curb appeal. And I do mean, everything looks overgrown and abandoned. All I care about are the veggies and fruits. Sigh.

Is there such a thing as a good hillbilly hoedown?
After accidentally deleting and retrieving my "next" button, I noticed that there was a new kind of "next" button on Googlereader. Next for comments and next for tags. What do you know about this-being to lazy to figure it out for myself and acknowledging you as a "Next" professional.
Also re: making it a thing- Mr. Sophanne and I are sure we have the new coffee table book- "Falling Barns and Landscaped Trailers" followed with a sequel called "Falling Trailers and Landscaped Barns."
But as soon as I started looking for really badly landscaped trailers, only the good ones appeared so there will be a slight delay.

Nice "Saturday Flowers". Love the combination of begonias and alliums.

That sock needs a good talking to! You gotta let it know who's boss. :)
Our Walmart is scary at times too but not like yours. :0
Pretty flowers.

Lovely flowers. If anyone can, you could make it a thing.
I think I've officially become a lake person. The outsiders started arriving yesterday and I've already restrained myself from shooting one. Although I've developed this strange twitch.
Happy Friday!

"There was a guy in a wife beater and huge Uncle Sam type hat with stars and stripes on the corner with a bull horn, yelling into traffic yesterday morning."
Oh, I used to see him all the time in Lawrence. He also had a big "HONK FOR HEMP" sign he'd wave at people driving by.
People are so...special.

Red, white and blue flowers just in time for the Fourth thanks to the P.O.....
I, too, am disappointed there's no hillbilly picture.

I sure like your post office. I don't have driveway flower photos, but I might have gotten some interesting drive-by flower photos today...

My asshat neighbor just walked by in a crime scene tape yellow, size too small for his gut, polo shirt. Hillbillies are everywhere.
My post office has no flowers but younger son and I pulled weeds at the Boy Scout store yesterday, it looked great when we finished.

Nice post office flowers. Crazy w-mart guy and in a wife-beater, too. O.o
I think I should have read in chronological order re: sock but I think you'll make it behave. I did my first short-row heel (thank you) and I liked it. :D
Nice new decorations on the blog!

Lovely post office flowers. Definitely better than the overflowing rubbish bin and dog poo outside ours.

Isn't there ALWAYS some guy in a wife beater yelling something or other near that store? I avoid it like the plague, even if it means I have to spend more to get milk :(
