Okay, there will be love, too, but it's going to cranky love.
I love this and KmKat for posting it.
The black stuff in my filter pitcher did turn out to be charcoal from the filter and not some kind of icky toxic black death mold or anything.
I may even live.
Today marks the beginning of that holiday season and it is also my annual reminder that I do not belong in the nation in which I was born. I will mostly be crankier than usual until mid-January. Even that depends on who goes to the Super Bowl.
While it would be a simple thing to lower my standards, join the Church of the Shopping Mall and embrace the Stuff, it's just not going to happen. I like my old fashioned ideas... and please don't confuse me with someone who is traditional because that I am not. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
There's all this talk about Joe the Plumber and how he's struggling. His cousin Greg the Plumber came over to look at a dripping facet*. He told me it would be almost $500 to replace the facet and the sink.
A perfectly good custom-made-for-that-vanity-cabinet sink, thankyouverymuch.
I did a little googling, found a facet I could live with and, for about a hundred bucks, replaced the facet... had lunch and treated myself to a huge coke as a reward for doing it myself (without whining here).
Joe the Plumber may deserve the trouble he's in.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have lace to knit and neighbors to mock.
Happy Halloween Friday!
* It was a not good brand of facet that didn't have any washers for me to replace. The problem was inside the facet itself and, therefore, needed to be replaced vs changing a washer or something. No clue why he thought the sink needed to go. I was too mad to ask.
