Now that was a football game.
I tried to come up with ten things that scare or frighten me and it ends up being a rant about Ronnie Reagan, stupid people with too much power and how 85% of the posting population of Ravelry are will do anything for attention.
All three are more about annoyance and what humans are really like than anything that frightens me. Unless you want to talk about those people raising children and we don't want to go there (today). So I'm skipping this week's ten. Yes again.
Instead I bring you actual knitting content. Try not to faint.
It's a cowl!
The modeled photos are so bad that they had my Joan laughing on a day when there was to be no laughing.
I love this yarn. Yes, that does mean it's been discontinued. Story of my life*. It's Moda-Dea's Cartwheel, which is a "thick and thin" wool yarn in the color-way Raspberries. I would love to get my hands on a couple of bags of this stuff and make a sweater. Something slightly boxy to wear with jeans and boots on the weekend.
Yes, a couple of bags.
The yarn is 77 yards per skein, people.
Not that I'll ever find a couple of bags. Then again, it's not like I own a pair of jeans or would actually knit myself a cute boxy sweater, anyway.
[Edited To Add: Lora found the yarn on eBay! Now I'm sitting here pondering how much I want it. Thank you, Lora!]
The pattern (for the cowl) is mine and totally simple and easy. Not the story of my life.
I knit the cowl on a Saturday night while watching bad sci fi movies and daydreaming about fall/winter/the end of the hot weather.
And, yes, that's lace with it. I need to mow/weed whack in order to take photos of that, so y'all will have to wait. Yes, Joan, it is what you think it is and it's all your fault.
I have nothing new to show for tomorrow, so I'm entertaining the idea of a new feature here at Shut Up & Knit. Ask Aunt Cookie. What do we think? I thought it might be fun, but I'm not sure. Y'all know how good I am at scaring people/readers away.
*If I love it, it is either discontinued, gay or a complete asshole. Or a combo of the three.
