Sealing Wax Swallowtail

Swallowtail_sealing_waxPattern:  Swallowtail by Evelyn Clark.  Published in IK Fall '06

Yarn:  Malabrigo lace weight in Sealing Wax.  Less than two hanks were used.

Needles:  Options US 4 tips

Time Served:  Started:  03-30-08  Finished:  04-10-08

Size: 72 inches across the top and 29 inches down the spine.

Mods:  I did 19 repeats of the budding lace chart, knit both nupp charts twice and added an extra row to the edging.

Again:  Yes, but not any time soon.  While I love Ms. Clark and enjoy her patterns, I am just a little burned out right now.

I could have blocked it harder and gotten it longer, but I like the size it is and think it will serve well.  While this wasn't a long knit, it did feel like a slog, and I was very happy to finish it and move on.  Sadly, I have moved on to socks ( see burn out comment above), so things will be even more boring around here than normal.

Be afraid.

Kindly ignore the cat hair and wonky blocking...

It's lovely! I need to get ahold of some Malabrigo laceweight sometime...I've fondled it, but talked myself out of buying it at the place where I fondled.

Gorgeous! Lace weight Malabrigo is SO fondlable, I'm loving just petting it, not to mention working with it ;)

It's beautiful! I keep looking at that laceweight whenever I see it, but can never settle on a color....

So pretty! Did you only need 2 hanks of the malabrigo lace? It's so pretty. Nice mods.

Cookie, it's gorgeous. Wow. I note you finished that in 11 days could that have anything to do with the burnout factor??

It's stunning. I'm a little confused on what is wonky. It looks terrific from where I'm looking.

It's beautiful! Your nupps are especially lovely and your speed is beyond impressive.

Well, I was going to be kind but I can't see the cat hairs, although I can see the 'wonky' you're talking about.... nothing another blocking won't take care of, eh?
Thank you for the mods, I think Sealing Wax ST is Gorgeous.

I am not afraid.
so there.
I am, however, envious. That's a lovely swallowtail....and I covet that color. My LYS seems not to want to get it in in that shade. So far, I'm letting this save me money. Sooner or later, however, I'll cave and just order some.

Cat hair only makes it better--like aging a good wine.

It's wonderful!

Lovely! Do the nups have anything to do with the burn out?

Since when are socks boring?

Gorgeous. This one is for me yes???Probably no... :( I do love the malabrigo laceweight. It is so soft and squishable. And it knits up nice too.

Your Swallowtail looks lovely to me! Maybe some day I may see the wonkiness but I surely don't right now, Cookie. Boring? I don't think so. :D

Your shawl is gorgeous. I hope you find whatever helps you through the burnout. I always like seeing the socks you knit.

Wow! It's beautiful!

Lovely, as always. I love the shape of it, very wrapable. Is that a word? And the color is gorgeous.

You couldn't do boring if someone held an AR-15 to your head. :D

Gorgeous and the color is fabu!

It's fabulous! You put the rest of us to shame with your speed, and as for boring? HA!! ROFLMAO

Very, very pretty!!!

It's gorgeous! I see no cat hair, nor do I see evidence of wonky blocking. It's fantastic.

DROOL....NUPPS! That is one gorgeous shawl, Cookie! Each one is a work of art! You crank these out and one might think they are easy. I know differently!
I hope I did not ruin it by drooling all over it!
:D
xoxoxo

Gorgeous! Wow - just beautiful. I've been wanting to try Malabrigo laceweight....now I really want to!
