Monday Stuff

Cetta tagged my cranky ass for the 7 Things meme:

The Rules:
1. When tagged, place the name of the person and URL on your blog
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Write 7 things about yourself
4. Tag 7 of your favorite bloggers

  1.   I actually used the term "man up" in a conversation.  No idea where it came from, but I think it made my point rather well.
  2.   My birth certificate is wrong, and I was the first person to notice (at 17).
  3.   I stopped coloring my hair a couple of months ago.  It's something to see.  No, not for you.  I mean in general.
  4.   Love the smell of orange blossoms.
  5.   Hate oranges.
  6.   Cannot swim.
  7.   Love the crabmen... really love those Harris boys.  /purrs

Evil_stacey_angel_laceIt's Evil Stacey and her Angel Lace.  Photo used with her permission.

I totally owe her a larger pink shawl once I can face pink again.

I used Lane Borgosesia Cashwool doubled for this shawl.

Ask her how big it is. I don't have a clue.  I'm just lucky I got it to her in time for her birthday.

Hey, Stacey!  Get someone to take you and the shawl out to dinner, so you can show (it) off.

I had something else to talk about today, but it's gone now.  It's been replaced with crankiness.  No, there's no story about crankiness for you.  Maybe tomorrow, but we'll see.

Ya know, that meme makes me think about doing the 100 things thingy.  Maybe one day when I have less nothing...

How is it only Monday?

Oh, COOKIE! That Shawl is lovely! Lucky Stacey!
Your birth certificate was wrong? Huh. Those wacky Californians.
xo

I had to bite my tongue the other night to keep from telling a man in the midst of a pity-party to "man up." It's a great phrase!

I need to learn how to use that term with precision. Is it the equivalent of lawyering up, as in, taking one with you? Or does it mean "grow a pair?"

My son's birth certificate is wrong in three places. (I mean really, does anyone really think "Edwim" is a name? C'mon now.)
Why do you need to make that shawl larger? Doesn't Stacey knit? Tell her to knit her own damn shawl and make one for me, instead. Heh.

I can't swim either. I always feel like the only one.

I stopped coloring my hair this year but only because I've been distracted and with my curly fro, you don't see the grays that easy. And how is your birth certificate wrong? I'm going to have to go check mine...

100 things are great fun! Everybody loves to read them. I thought I'd HATE doing mine, but I actually had a hard time stopping at 100, as I recall. Now I can't even remember what it is I wrote in it....wonder if it's all still true. :)

I needed a little angel to save my ass from being stuck by lightening the other day. I'm debating if I should post about being a bad ass... or just give up because of the tooth ache that is getting a root canal on Wednesday.

Can you use man up in a sentence? I'm sure I could work it. Surrounded by testosterone as I am (at home, professionally), might come in handy.

Nice list.

Am I sheltered or what?! I don't think I've heard/read "man up" before. Although I certainly see it in my future vocabulary...if only my mental one.

Stacey's new shawl is lovely and she looks great in it! Wonderful knitting, Cookie.

The other one I like besides "man up" is "buck the eff up." I find that attaching a "dammit" helps. Yeah, it's like "grow a pair."

Lovely shawl! Lovely fishermen! I like the younger Harris boy best. But really, I watch Johnathan a lot. I'm not sure why but it makes no difference. I watched them alllll day yesterday. Good TV and it's gonna get better tomorrow!

Hey my birth certificate is wrong too.My middle name is wrong. My mom moved and by the time she got it-it was too late to change it without paying legal fees.(like 5 bucks)So my cheap mom left it.So now it will cost me around 400 dollars to add a Y to my legal middle name Jo. I am so totally traumatized by it I just know I am.
Gorgeous shawl by the way!

The shawl is beautiful. I've stopped colouring my hair too, it is indeed a sight to behold

I'm so glad the crabmen are back. I've missed them! Seems like the off season was way too long. :)
