No, I don't get it, but I don't have to because I like him.
I've been puzzling over how to close out this year. Thankfully, I got my answer in the mail today.
No, I don't get mail on Sundays. I just went to the post office today. Saturdays are madness at the local PO. o.0
I got this card from a truly amazing friend and realized that it sums up this past year rather well. After all, this was the year that I started to take knitting seriously. Blog and all...
It's also the year that I found some truly wonderful and lovely people. None of whom think sleeping in the same bed with a sock-in-progress is weird. Ya never know when you're going to wake up at three in the morning and need something to do while watching the Weather Channel.
I'm not where I wanted to be a year ago, but things could be worse and I am still naively hopeful for the coming year. Something about hope springing eternal or something.
I don't think I have one.
Yes, I know that's nuts, but it's cloudy outside today and there has to be something on tv.
And, yes, ya'll have seen that yarn before. It's the Opal ladybug yarn that I had to put on a time-out.
It was waving at me from the stash and I gave in and brought it out. That sock is my first short row heel and toe cuff-down sock and it shows. o.0
Turns out I don't really know how to kitchner. *L* Yes, this sock has some issues. Issues that I may or may not fix later. We'll see how ihs partner turns out. Right now, I'm okay with the idea of a pair of socks that have weird toes. We'll have to see how long I'm okay with that idea, though.
Ya know, in a way, that sock sums up this year. Learning new stuff about the knitting and about what I can live with. Pushing my limits and finding out that I really can do things that I was doubtful of. Still practical boring me, but that's okay, too. Kind of weird and unique. I mean, look at that yarn! *L* Full of hope that things will work out in the end... kitchner or not.
To sum up... still weird and mostly okay with it, and very much looking forward to what the future holds and sharing it with ya'll. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Whining, people hating, cat pics, the occasional oddball rant and all.
Next year... sweaters, lace and spring!
